The ATP, manufacturer's number 2020, was built in 1989 and after some ten years of operation in America was converted into a freighter. It has been rescued from imminent destruction and refurbished inside and out to its original passenger configuration. Its Manx Airlines colour scheme is an exact copy of the scheme used by the much-missed Manx Airlines which operated a fleet of ATPs for many years until being bought by British Airways. The registration "G-MAUD", although never worn by this aircraft, was carried by one of the Manx ATPs which was named after Maud Pownall who was one of the company's first employees.
It is open from 11.00 to 3.00 at weekends in the summer and we often have former crew on board who can explain the controls and tell stories of their flying careers.
